Description

We re expanding our Asset team and looking for a skilled and motivated Project Surveyor (Aids & Adaptations) to help us deliver high–quality planned, cyclical, and service programmes of work. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and forward–thinking team that s committed to improving homes and communities.

As a Project Surveyor (Aids & Adaptations), you ll focus on delivering a high quality, customer focused repairs surveying service by carrying out detailed property and estate inspections, identifying condition issues, and specifying appropriate aids, adaptations, and minor improvement works. You ll ensure all recommendations are cost–effective, compliant with regulatory and accessibility standards, and aligned with residents needs, while providing clear, supportive communication to customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out stock condition surveys to assess building fabric, component life cycles, and overall asset health. Inspect properties to identify and recommend suitable aids and adaptations that support residents independence. Produce clear specifications and recommendations for minor improvements and adaptation works. Assess estate–level conditions, identifying issues with communal areas, external elements, and environmental quality. Ensure all recommendations comply with relevant legislation, accessibility standards, and organisational policies. Liaise with occupational therapists, contractors, and residents to ensure adaptations meet assessed needs. Maintain accurate stock condition data to support long–term asset planning and investment decisions. Monitor and verify the quality of completed adaptation and improvement works against required standards. Prioritise health, safety, and accessibility considerations during all inspections and surveys. Provide clear, customer–focused advice to residents regarding adaptation options, processes, and expected outcomes. Identify opportunities for estate improvements that enhance safety, usability, and overall living environments. Contribute to ongoing improvement of the asset management and adaptations service through reporting and insight

What We re Looking For

Essential:

HNC in Building Studies or equivalent. Proven project management experience in building works. Strong knowledge of construction technology and building regulations. Experience in defect diagnosis and technical reporting. Excellent communication, budgeting, and contractor management skills. Full UK driving licence and access to a suitably insured vehicle.

Desirable:

Degree–level qualification in a construction–related field. IOSH or Prince2 certification. Experience with JCT contracts, CAD, and asset management databases.

Additional Information
