Description

Project Manager / Construction Manager Flagship Glasgow Bridge Project Glasgow

An opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a major civil engineering infrastructure project in Scotland.

The Opportunity Are you an experienced Project Manager or Construction Manager looking for an opportunity to take ownership of an exciting infrastructure project?

We are working with a leading UK infrastructure contractor who are looking to strengthen their team with the appointment of an additional Project Manager / Construction Manager to support a flagship bridge project in Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a general civil engineering background to join an established infrastructure team and play an important role in the management and development of the project through its design phase.

With an excellent location in the Glasgow area, this opportunity would suit someone based across the Central Belt looking to become involved in a significant piece of Scottish infrastructure.

About the Project The project forms part of a major programme of infrastructure maintenance and improvement works across Scotland's strategic road network.

The works involve a range of complex civil engineering and structural maintenance activities, including bridge strengthening and repairs, resurfacing, concrete repairs, joint replacements and structural monitoring.

This is an important programme of works, helping to maintain the safety, structural integrity and long-term performance of a major transport asset.

The Role As Project Manager / Construction Manager, you will play an important role in managing the design phase of the works, ensuring the project is effectively planned, coordinated and prepared for successful delivery.

Working alongside the wider project team, you will take responsibility for overseeing the development of the works, coordinating key stakeholders and ensuring that the project progresses in line with programme, budget and quality expectations.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing and coordinating the design phase of the project, ensuring works are progressing in line with the agreed programme.

Working closely with design teams, engineers, subcontractors and other key stakeholders.

Overseeing project planning, identifying potential risks and resolving issues as they arise.

Ensuring designs are practical, deliverable and aligned with construction requirements.

Monitoring project progress, programme and commercial considerations.

Supporting the transition from design through to construction and delivery.

Maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance throughout the project.

About You We are keen to speak with individuals who have a strong background in civil engineering and experience working within a project or construction management environment.

You don't necessarily need to have previous experience working specifically on bridge projects. A broader civil engineering background, combined with strong project management and coordination skills, would be of real interest.

You may be currently working as a Project Manager, Construction Manager or in a similar senior engineering position, looking for an opportunity to take on a new challenge.

Ideally, you will have:

Experience managing civil engineering projects or significant work packages.

A good understanding of the design and pre-construction stages of infrastructure projects.

The ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage project stakeholders.

Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

A good understanding of project programmes, budgets and delivery requirements.

A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership and drive projects forward.

Interested? If you're an experienced Project Manager or Construction Manager with a civil engineering background and would be interested in finding out more, we'd be keen to hear from you.

For a confidential discussion about the opportunity, please get in touch.
