Project Manager

Description

Force Contracting Services are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Kilmarnock.

The project is due to commence in mid-September 2026 and is expected to run for approximately 2 years, with the overall works valued at circa £15m.

The successful candidate will have a strong civil engineering background, relevant experience working on BESS sites, and be able to manage a project of this scale.

Scope of Works:

* Enabling works

* Site preparation

* Earthworks

* Drainage

* Access roads

* Hardstanding

* Equipment foundations

* Fencing foundations

* Ducting and trenching

* Reinstatement

* All associated civil works required to provide a complete and operational BESS site

Responsibilities:

* Overall responsibility for project delivery from mobilisation through to completion.

* Lead and manage the project delivery team.

* Manage Site Managers, Site Engineers, General Foremen and subcontractors.

* Develop and manage the construction programme.

* Monitor progress, costs, quality and performance.

* Manage client, consultant and stakeholder relationships.

* Coordinate the supply chain and subcontractors.

* Manage project risks and resolve issues.

* Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification.

* Oversee completion, snagging and handover.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering.

* Relevant experience working on BESS sites.

* Experience managing major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

* Strong understanding of construction delivery and project management.

* Excellent leadership and communication skills.

* Strong programme and commercial awareness.

* SMSTS.

* CSCS.

* Relevant construction or engineering qualification. xjnqpsq
