Description

Private Sector Housing Officer

We are seeking an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join a local authority on an initial 3–month contract, with the potential for extension. Available on either a full–time or part–time basis, this project–focused role offers hybrid working, with a minimum of two days per week in the office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of housing–related complaints within the private rented sector, working closely with tenants, landlords and other stakeholders to resolve issues and improve housing standards. You will also undertake proactive inspections of Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs), ensuring properties meet relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional who can work independently, manage competing priorities and hit the ground running in a busy environment. Previous experience within Private Sector Housing is essential, along with a strong understanding of housing standards, complaint investigation and HMO inspections.

The role forms part of a wider project, making it ideal for candidates who enjoy delivering targeted outcomes and contributing to service improvements. If you have a proactive approach, excellent communication skills and experience within local authority housing services, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today for immediate consideration.
