Pre-Construction Manager

Description

A leading construction contractor are looking for an experienced Pre-Construction Manager, taking a key role within the pre-construction team and supporting the successful development of projects from initial enquiry through to handover into delivery.

This is an office-led hybrid position, ideally suited to someone with a strong construction background who can coordinate the commercial, technical and operational elements of the pre-construction process.

The Role

As Pre-Construction Manager, you will take ownership of projects during the pre-construction phase, working closely with estimating, commercial, design and operational teams to develop competitive, technically robust and deliverable project solutions.

You will act as a key link between internal teams, clients, consultants and the supply chain, ensuring opportunities are properly assessed and successfully transitioned into construction.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage projects through the full pre-construction and tender process.

* Coordinate input from estimating, commercial, design and operational teams.

* Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings and programme requirements.

* Develop construction methodologies, logistics strategies and project programmes.

* Identify key project risks and opportunities at an early stage.

* Work closely with clients, consultants and supply-chain partners throughout the tender process.

* Support value engineering and buildability reviews.

* Coordinate tender submissions, presentations and client interviews.

* Ensure commercial and operational assumptions are aligned prior to contract award.

* Manage the transition of successful tenders from pre-construction into the project delivery team.

* Support the continued development of strong client relationships and repeat business.

Requirements:

* Previous experience as a Pre-Construction Manager, Senior Project Manager, Design Manager or similar within the construction industry.

* Strong knowledge of construction methodology and project delivery.

* Experience managing or contributing to complex tenders and pre-construction programmes.

* The ability to interpret technical and commercial information and identify project risk.

* Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

* A collaborative approach and the confidence to work across commercial, estimating, design and operational functions. xjnqpsq

* A track record of taking projects from tender or pre-construction through to successful handover.
