Kent 27ph Umbrella 6 month contract

Are you an experienced Leasehold Officer with strong knowledge of Section 20, major works and service charges?

We're working with an established housing provider in Kent that is looking for an experienced Leasehold Officer to join its close–knit team on an interim basis.

You'll be joining a smaller leasehold service responsible for approximately 500 leasehold properties, giving you the opportunity to take genuine ownership of your workload and work across a broad range of leasehold matters.

This isn't a role where you'll be focused on just one area. You'll be involved across the leasehold service, with a particular emphasis on Section 20 consultation, major works and service charges.

What will you be doing?

You'll be responsible for delivering a knowledgeable and resident–focused leasehold service, including:

Managing Section 20 consultations and major works casesPreparing and issuing statutory consultation noticesResponding to leaseholder observations and enquiriesHandling estimated and actual service charge queriesReviewing costs, apportionments and leaseholder contributionsInterpreting leases and applying relevant leasehold legislationManaging more complex leasehold enquiries, disputes and complaintsWorking closely with property services, finance, surveyors and other housing colleaguesTaking ownership of cases through to resolutionThe organisation is particularly keen to strengthen how Section 20 and service charge work is managed within the leasehold team.

Who are we looking for?

You'll need previous experience working within Leasehold, Homeownership, Major Works or Service Charges, ideally within social housing.

Strong Section 20 and major works experienceGood knowledge of service charges and leasehold legislationExperience interpreting leasesConfidence managing complex leaseholder enquiriesStrong communication and customer service skillsThe ability to manage your own caseload and prioritiesA proactive approach and the confidence to take ownershipYou'll be joining a smaller team, so we're looking for someone who can hit the ground running, work collaboratively and provide a genuinely good service to leaseholders.

The office is conveniently located close to a mainline station, making it easily accessible by public transport.
