Housing Officer

Near Edinburgh | £26 per hour (including holiday pay)

Peace Recruitment is working with a small housing association based near Edinburgh on a potential maternity cover opportunity for an experienced Community Housing Officer, with an anticipated start in mid-October.

Joining a small housing team, you’ll deliver a responsive housing management service, supporting tenants and helping maintain safe, well-managed communities.

The role offers:

* 32 hours per week, Monday to Thursday.

* Hybrid working: two days at home and two days in the office.

* £26 per hour, including holiday pay.

Key responsibilities:

* Managing rent arrears and taking appropriate recovery action.

* Carrying out pre-termination inspections and working with the maintenance team to ensure void properties are repaired and re-let within target times.

* Allocating properties through the association’s digital lettings service.

* Supporting new and existing tenants, working with external agencies and referring tenants for financial inclusion and tenancy sustainment support.

* Managing tenancy matters, including settling-in visits, succession, mutual exchanges, terminations, suspected abandonments and antisocial behaviour.

* Monitoring estates to help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment.

* Providing clear housing information and advice.

* Working with the Tenant Panel and encouraging tenant participation.

About you:

You’ll have experience in housing management, ideally within a housing association or local authority, and a sound understanding of relevant Scottish housing legislation. xjnqpsq You’ll be comfortable managing a varied caseload, handling sensitive situations and working closely with tenants, colleagues and partner agencies. Experience with mid-market rents would be beneficial but not essential
