Groundworkers Required in York – BESC Qualification Essential

Frontline Construction Recruitment is currently recruiting 2–4 experienced Groundworkers for an upcoming National Grid substation project in York.

We are looking for skilled and reliable Groundworkers with previous civil engineering or groundworks experience who hold a valid BESC (Basic Electrical Safety Competence for Access) qualification recognised through the Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR).

This is an opportunity to join a substation project carrying out excavation, pitting and general civil engineering works.

Previous experience working on National Grid substations, electrical infrastructure or utility projects would be a major advantage.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

*

Valid BESC qualification (EUSR).

*

Previous Groundworker or Civil Engineering experience.

*

Valid CSCS card or relevant industry competency card.

*

Full PPE.

*

Understanding of site health and safety procedures.

*

National Grid or substation experience advantageous.

*

Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.

*

Full right to work in the UK.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

*

General groundworks and civil engineering activities.

*

Excavation and pitting works within a substation environment.

*

Digging, backfilling and reinstatement.

*

Assisting with site preparation and associated groundwork.

*

Supporting site supervisors and other trades.

*

Working in accordance with site safety procedures.

*

Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area.
