Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Pay Rate: 30.50 PAYE Inclusive of Holiday Pay

Job Purpose:

To manage and deliver high–quality Mechanical and Electrical Estates services across a hospital site. This role ensures compliance, safety, and performance standards while supporting patient–focused service delivery and strategic development within the Estates & Facilities division.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead day–to–day management of mechanical, electrical, and building systems (HVAC, boilers, medical gases, power systems, etc.). Oversee internal teams and contractors to ensure compliance, efficiency, and value for money. Manage team performance, training, and development, promoting a culture of service excellence. Prepare technical reports, specifications, and tender evaluations. Ensure all statutory requirements and safety standards are met. Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and capital project support. Represent Estates on internal committees and liaise with clinical teams and senior management. Participate in on–call rota for Estates management.

Essential Requirements:

Degree or equivalent in Building Services Engineering or related discipline. Professional registration (e.g. IEng or CEng) with IHEEM, CIBSE, IET, or similar. Significant experience at senior level within healthcare estates or similar complex environment. Knowledge and experience with key healthcare systems (HTM compliance, medical gases, pressure systems, etc.). Proven leadership, staff management, and budget management skills. Excellent communication, analytical, and report–writing skills.
