Disrepair Surveyor

Description

Croydon Council are looking for a Senior Disrepair Specialist Officer to join their busy and high–profile Disrepair Team.

You'll play a key role in inspecting properties, diagnosing disrepair issues, specifying works, and managing cases from start to completion. The role involves contractor management, Health & Safety monitoring, tenant liaison, coordinating temporary decants, and working closely with teams such as Legal and Tenancy.

This position is site–based 4 days a week, with hybrid working from home and the office.

Key Responsibilities

Survey properties and specify disrepair worksRaise orders and manage contractorsOversee cases from initial inspection to completionCarry out pre–, mid– and post–inspectionsEnsure Health & Safety complianceSupport tenants through the works processCoordinate temporary decantsWork collaboratively with internal stakeholders Requirements

Strong property maintenance backgroundTechnical knowledge of repairs and building issuesDisrepair experience preferred but training providedExperience in major repairs or project management desirableSocial housing experience beneficialUnderstanding of H&S legislationExcellent communication and customer service skillsConfident with Outlook (other systems training provided)Commercial awarenessFull UK driving licence + Basic DBS
