Estimator - Manchester

An opportunity has arisen to join a leading Main,- contractor based at their offices in Manchester.

We are looking for an Estimator (or an experienced Assistant Estimator seeking progression) to work within a dynamic and forward-thinking Pre-Construction Department

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and preparing tender submissions and bids in accordance with company processes and procedures, reporting directly to the Lead Estimator.

Work across a wide range of sectors and project types, adapting estimating strategies accordinglyPrepare tenders, cost plans, budgets, and negotiated bidsManage incoming tender documentation, addendums, and instructionsProduce detailed bills of quantitiesIssue tender enquiries to subcontractors and suppliersAnalyse and evaluate tender returns for compliance, scope, accuracy, preliminaries, and commercial termsSupport supply chain selection and subcontractor assessmentsUndertake quantification checks and cost verification exercisesCollaborate with operational, planning, management, and design teams during bid preparationMaintain awareness of market conditions, build rates, and cost benchmarking dataKeep up to date with current construction methods and materialsProvide feedback and cost intelligence to the Quantity Surveying teamKey Requirements

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelExperience using estimating software such as Conquest, Conquest On-Screen Take Off, and OnsightStrong written and verbal communication skillsCreative and innovative approach to problem-solvingSelf-motivated and highly organisedTeam-oriented mindsetFull UK driving licence Recruitment on (phone number removed)
