This establishment provides inclusive vocational and academic training across Bath, Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire and beyond, supporting learners from entry level through to higher-level programmes.
As a Carpentry Trainer, you'll deliver high-quality Carpentry curriculum across classroom, workshop, theory and practical teaching. You'll teach learners up to Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 standards, helping them develop the practical skills, technical knowledge and professional behaviours required to succeed in the construction industry.
The ideal candidate will have strong Carpentry or Joinery industry experience and hold an NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, in a Carpentry / Joinery discipline. You should also hold Level 2 English and Maths, or equivalent. Previous teaching experience is desirable, but candidates coming directly from industry will be considered if they have the right skills, attitude and willingness to work towards a recognised teaching qualification.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Carpenter or Joiner to transition into education, gain teaching qualifications, and make a lasting impact on learners entering the trade.
The role:
*Deliver Carpentry programmes up to Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3.
*Teach classroom, workshop, theory and practical sessions.
*Produce schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans and learning materials.
*Assess and review practical work in line with College quality expectations.
*Support learners with progress, achievement, attendance and development.
*Provide pastoral and tutorial support where required.
*Maintain a safe, professional and inclusive learning environment.
*Work closely with the Head of Department and wider Construction Trades team.
*Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

The person:
*Carpentry or Joinery industry background.
*NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, in Carpentry / Joinery.
*Level 2 English and Maths, or equivalent.
*L5 teaching qualification desirable, or willingness to work towards.
*Teaching, training or assessing experience desirable but not essential.
*Strong practical trade knowledge and up-to-date industry understanding.
*Able to engage, motivate and support vocational learners.
*Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
*Committed to learner progress, safeguarding, equality and high standards.
*Looking for a long-term career within education and training.
