Description

Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Council are looking to recruit a Building Surveyor to join our team based in Great Wenham, Near Ipswich, Suffolk. You will join us on a full–time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of GBP45,091 – GBP52,413 per annum (pro rata for part time).

This role is open to full time, part time, and job share applications, all of which will be assessed equally.

We are looking for a Building Surveyor (Voids Surveyor) to join our Housing Repairs and Maintenance Team.

About the role

Reporting to the Voids Contract Manager, you will deliver a full range of professional surveying services within the Voids Service Area.

Babergh and Mid–Suffolk District Councils are going through an exciting period of change, with a new operating model being developed for the Repairs, Maintenance and Voids team within our Housing Directorate.

This is your opportunity to join our new team at inception and to help shape the future of our Housing Repairs and Maintenance Team.

In this role, you will:

ensure statutory and industry best practices provide expert technical advice offer support and guidance on building–related matters and enquiries, often of a complex or multifaceted nature contribute to continuous improvements and help deliver top–quartile performance within the Voids Service. About you

We are looking for a professionally qualified Surveyor, with significant experience to join our dedicated team.

Ideally you will have worked within a responsive repairs service or voids team, as you will be responsible for producing clear, detailed specifications of multi–trade works using schedule of rates and managing the programme of work to completion.

You will be confident using IT systems for job management to ensure works are delivered by our Voids Contractor within service level agreements/KPI s and the allocated budget.

You will need to possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable as the point of contact for stakeholders, contractors and customers.
