Description

We are currently seeking an Assistant Site Manager to join a well-established construction team delivering a significant school development project in Oxfordshire.

Working closely with the Site Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of two projects on the same school site. The works include the construction of a new extension to an existing school building, followed by internal fit-out works. Depending on programme coordination, the projects are expected to run concurrently for approximately 60 weeks, or consecutively for up to 90 weeks.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager looking to gain valuable experience on education-sector projects, with the potential to secure a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting the Site Manager with the day-to-day management of site operations. Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. Monitoring health and safety compliance across the site. Supporting programme management and progress reporting. Conducting site inspections and quality checks. Assisting with logistics, deliveries, and site coordination within a live school environment. Maintaining site records, documentation, and reporting requirements. Supporting client and stakeholder communications where required. Requirements:

Previous experience in an Assistant Site Manager. Experience working on education, extension, refurbishment, or fit-out projects is advantageous. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and site management processes. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a project team. SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS Card, and First Aid qualifications preferred. If you are an Assistant Site Manager looking for your next long-term opportunity in Oxfordshire and are interested in progressing into a permanent role, we would like to hear from you.
