Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a leading infrastructure contractor working on a major, long-term project in Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant QS looking to develop their commercial career while working alongside an experienced commercial team on a complex infrastructure programme.

The Role

Working closely with the Senior QS and Commercial Manager, you will support the commercial management and delivery of the project.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the preparation of applications for paymentAssisting with cost reporting, forecasting and CVRsSupporting the management of change and variationsAssisting with subcontract procurement and administrationMonitoring project costs and financial performanceAssisting with commercial reporting and cost-to-complete reviewsSupporting the identification and management of commercial riskMaintaining accurate commercial recordsWorking closely with the operational and commercial teamsAssisting with subcontractor payments and accounts

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience working within a contracting/commercial environmentA degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial ManagementSome experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, construction or a related sectorGood understanding of commercial processesStrong Excel and Microsoft Office skillsExcellent communication and organisational skillsA willingness to learn and progress within a commercial teamThis is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant QS to gain exposure to a major, long-term infrastructure programme and progress their career within a highly experienced commercial function.
