Hand-Painted Floral Chest of Drawers - Purple & Green Stripes

Description

This is a vintage hand-painted oval wall mirror with a wonderfully aged, timeworn character. The frame is finished in a rich deep cobalt/antique blue, accented by a delicate gold-painted inner border.

The mirror itself has developed a striking old patina, with extensive natural-looking oxidation, tarnishing, surface marks, and areas of discoloration that give it an authentic, beautifully weathered appearance. The worn silvering creates a softly mottled, almost antique mercury-glass effect, adding depth and character rather than looking pristine or newly made.

The irregular brushwork, aged gilding, and distressed surface suggest a piece intended to have the appearance of an old European decorative mirror, with plenty of rustic, collected-over-time charm.
