A 21-year-old man living in the Islington area requires a personal assistant (carer). Client has autism and requires support with navigating travel to and from activities and support when out on trips.
The successful applicant should have care experience working with children and adults with autism, must be motivated, reliable, flexible, into fitness and has a full UK car driving license to drive an automatic Motability car. The successful applicant will be insured with the Motability insurance company. Driving experience and full UK driving license is required.
You will be required to work a total of 6 hours per week. On the following shifts/days, but some flexibility would be ideal in case some of the client’s pre-booked medical appointments or pre-planned activities fall outside of these:
Tuesday: 3 hours evening
Wednesday or Thursday: 3 hours evening (this may vary)
Work Permit/Right to work, full UK driving licence and CV are essential to this post.
Pay and Benefits:
Hourly rate - £21.80 gross per hour before deductions.
Paid Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks per year pro rata of paid leave inclusive of bank holidays.
Job tasks include:
Driving client using his automatic Motability car to activities such as boat club, martial arts and gym
Accompanying client on trips and supporting him with activities such attended.
Assisting client with trips to appointments
