Location: LE5-Evington- Leicester

Hours: 12 hours/week – flexible shifts, including evenings/weekends- 2-3 hours daily

Rate of Pay: £13–£15 per hour depending on experience]

About the Role

We are looking for a kind, respectful, and reliable Support Worker to assist a client, an intelligent, independent woman who is registered blind and lives alone in her own home. Our client leads an active life and enjoys meaningful companionship, trips to the park, local shops, and attending health appointments.

The ideal candidate will be warm-natured, patient, and a confident driver who can help our client maintain her independence while providing a reassuring and trustworthy presence. Your role is to support—not take over—her routines.

Key Duties:

Offer companionship and build a positive, respectful rapport Support the service user on trips out: nature walks, shopping, or social visits Drive her to and from GP and hospital appointments Assist with light tasks, like guiding in unfamiliar settings or helping with reading/organising correspondence when needed Maintain clear communication with the service user and the wider support network You Must Have:

A full UK driving licence and access to your own car (essential) A genuine interest in supporting others to live independently A respectful and calm approach—Our client values dignity and autonomy Good spoken English and clear communication skills Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check

Desirable:

Experience supporting someone with visual impairment (training can be provided) Familiarity with the local area (parks, health services, and shopping) Previous care/support experience
