Description

For sale: Bailey Discovery SE Champagne 4-berth touring caravan. Very light-weight at 832kg (ex-works) and total length of 21 feet 9 inches. Comes with a recently fitted caravan mover with remote control for easy manoeuvring and parking (which was £700 alone), but please note that you will need to get a suitable battery. The wheel hubs complete with bearings were replaced 8 years ago and it's only been towed to Wales and the Lakes 3-4 times a year since then. It's always been stored under a cover (included) and has been well maintained. A new hitch damper was fitted four years ago as the old one started to leak oil. A new skylight was also fitted. Damage to the driver side rear corner - see photo. A farmer brushed it with a trailer, breaking the plastic on the corner. Filled with foam to prevent water ingress and a nice sticker will visually sort it out.
The plastic cover above the left wheel is cracked.
The caravan is ready to hook up and drive off.
Interior-wise, there is a surround seating area with clip-on small or large dining table. The area converts to a pull out double bed.
New carpet was fitted throughout.
There are two smaller seats with clip-on small table that convert to two single bunk beds with surround curtain for privacy. Would suit a young family. We used it with small kiddies for the length of our ownership and it's been great.
A small shower and toilet cubical with separate hand basin with useful swing out mirrors and a wardrobe. The water heater was fixed when we acquired the caravan and we have drained it and emptied it of any remaining water with compressed air every winter. It gives a great shower or two. A new whale pump included (it plugs into the side of the caravan and is placed into the water roll, which we are not selling). This caravan comes equipped with a fully working refrigerator (runs on electric or gas) with a small freezer compartment great for ice creams, a three ring gas hob and gas oven with a grill. There is also a central gas heater.

With this caravan comes a large awning for those longer stays, with plenty of space for two small tents (we had growing teenagers!) or a seating / dining area and storage, a medium sized storage cupboard (flat packed in a zipped bag included), curtains, as well as a separate smaller porch awning for road trips.
Included is also a CD/radio and speakers, clock.
With its comfortable sleeping capacity and practical features, this caravan is ideal for a leisurely touring caravan adventure. As our family has grown up we no longer need this lovely caravan. Manuals for the caravan and all fixtures included. (Not included are waste water butt, fresh water roll, electric hook up cable and hitch lock, but open to discussion if they are desired).
This is not a new caravan, but it is functional. It's been used lightly but regularly, it was made by a reputable manufacturer, it's been maintained, and is now ready to be used. There are signs of age as one would expect; it was made in year 2000. There has never been any water ingress, unlike with many newer caravans. The caravan is also pretty light, so you don't need a large car to tow it.
