Observations and general details for information

The V5c registered in my name, currently on SORN - confirms this is a Jeep Wrangler 4x4 limited edition with a 4.2 engine and Automatic transmission.

A rare opportunity to acquire a genuine 1988 ‘E prefix’ Column Shift RHD Wrangler YJ imported new into the UK by the premier importer at the time ‘Howes Motors’ of Bedfordshire (suppliers plate still attached to rear quarter) and first registered in the UK on 1st August 1989.

In my ownership in excess of seventeen (17) years but have seldom had the opportunity to make proper use of this super original Wrangler. In original Black factory paint with Wrangler decals, it is the factory built half steel door model with the column shift automatic gearbox. It is a very original Wrangler, as such there is no ‘body lift kit’, no winch, no snorkel, no extended wheel arches or oversized wheels!

There are a raft of invoices from previous owners for MOT’s, servicing and replacement parts.

New front axle Disconnect Unit

It has a matching rear twin cloth seat (currently removed) rear seat belts (currently removed) and carpets (currently removed) along with a rear body tub light grey fabric cover and a similar ‘bikini roof’ in a light grey material matching the soft top. The wheels are genuine 15” Jeep logo alloys, professionally stripped and powder coated a few years ago and in excellent condition.

Other original features include the steering wheel with multi bolt fixings, column shift automatic gearbox selector, removable steel half doors, fold down windscreen, rear side opening door with spare wheel mounting plate, classic dash instruments, internal roll cage with light grey covers, jack & brace under bonnet, rear bumperettes, PAS, tow bar & electrics, excellent light grey cloth seats, grey door cards with net oddment holders, standard side fender flares with sill flares, flip down rear number plate concealing fuel filler etc etc.

This has had no welding or paintwork since it left the factory, it is sound with a few marks consistent with its age.

This is a running and driving Wrangler, autobox and 4x4 all working.

Last MOT’d in April 2017 with a mileage of 69035 current mileage is 69043 – there is NO MOT on this vehicle, will need some recommissioning for use on the road, although should’nt be any unforeseen issues with a new MOT - lack of use prompts the sale BUT these are terrific in the snow and ideal for the summer months.

Ideal as an 'Spring/Summer project' for a Jeep enthusiast wanting an 'original' unmodified Jeep or 'Son/Daughter/Dad' restoration.
