Description
My heater box never worked when I started my renovation, the valve was seized and the fuse was popped
I have been renovating my heater box / valve, got it mostly there:
I have used:
New motor
Various rubbers etc (jaymic / other suppliers)
Bluntech valve renovation kit
Bluntech metal bracket (replacing snapped plastic one)
Bluntech metal arm for the valve
£350+ worth of parts
Things that still need attention
Plastic box is “ok” condition – I notice one corner where the Bowden cables come out is snapped /chipped out.
Valve cable mechanism works but needs adjusting, I’m looking at that cable and I would be tempted to replace the whole cable – one end is rusty.
Might be worth bench testing it, to check everything - part renovated, using new expensive parts, but as its part renovated its for "spares / parts"
Spent around £350 on parts + got stung on import duties so a lot more cost to me (THANKS BREXIT)
The inside metals have been given a light spray with high temp black, the “open and close” works for the inside flap
When I pulled it, a bunch of coolant came out the pipes / inside – so I’m fairly confident It doesn’t leak.
Recently I got the very rare chance to purchase a completely renovated part from Germany costing me circa £1000 + import duties – so this one is now surplus to requirements – im going to sell it off to recover some costs.
I’m only looking to recover £250 for costs, grab a steal for for an original part, very rare to come across these!
