VW Early Baywindow Camper

Description

This is my 1969 1600cc Baywindow camper. It was restored by‬

‭ the previous owner in 2012 and I have owned it 12 years. I‬

‭ have recently fitted a complete new interior and upholstery. It‬

‭ includes a sink/cooker, a top loading fridge, a heater, a table, a‬

‭ three drawer and cupboard unit and a rock and roll bed. It also‬

‭ has a moveable single seat which encloses a portaloo. The‬

‭ chassis and bodywork are fairly sound although the paintwork is‬

‭ showing some signs of age in places with some crackling on the surface.



‭It has servo assisted brakes, a newly reconditioned steering box by‬

‭ Midland Early Bay, twin carbs by Way Out Westie and a‬

‭ recently new alternator The suspension is standard.‬

‭ Over the years we have enjoyed it immensely and It is usually garaged.

‭ It has electrical connections for mains hook up and a leisure‬

‭ battery. The rear seat has two seat belts fitted. It drives and‬

‭ stops well.‬
