Description

This is for my much beloved VW crafter that has had an absolutely amazing no expense conversion into an amazing off grid capable supremely comfortable motor home.

The van is Medium wheelbase so it will park anywhere and is fabulous to drive, feeling like a regular car and with a brilliantly powerful engine with plenty of torque.

Despite its size though it’s got an amazing spec.

* Full sized double fixed bed to the rear which is sublimely comfortable.
* Shower enclosure with fitted cassette toilet and powerful shower
* Leather heated captain seats with bentley stitching - they eat up the miles and give you a lovely warm reception in the cold!
* 300ah fogstar drift LiFePO leisure battery connected to a CTek d250se and
* 3kw 240v inverter giving you mains even when not plugged in
* 400w solar panels on roof connected to a Victron MPPT ( the Ctek solar connection is rubbish and this gives you decent voltage)
* 3 bar pump operating on 12 volts and mains
* connector allowing charge of starter battery when leisure battery is full ( one really annoying thing about most campers is how they ignore the starter battery which goes flat if not driven - this gets charged by the solar so will stay charged even off grid)
* Truma 6de heating for air and hot water. It’s a brilliantly designed hybrid set up allowing you to run from mains when hooked up or diesel when off grid, automatically switching when it senses mains power.
*120 litre fresh water tank in place of spare wheel ( now mounted on the back)
* 75 litre waste tank under mounted with sensor to detect levels of fresh and waste
* full 12v independent switching panel
* full 240v consumer unit
* Heki midi skylight in seating area
* Maxxair ventilation above bed with light and automatic remote switching . This is so incredibly useful and allows you to remain comfortable even when it’s roasting outside - on its lowest setting you can sleep comfortably without being bothered by it.
* fully fitted with Evo Motion parts with most expensive verde bambu option and Bamboo wooden worktops, removable table and flip up outdoor bbq table.
This one is basically design 2 in their website with the added flip top bed so the Truma could go in. This gives loads of options if you want to remove the mattress and take advantage of the rear of the vans space.

* outdoor shower connection - ideal for convenience and getting clean before entering or if you like us have a dirt attracting feather duster for a dog!!
* Side rails to help getting in and out - one corner got damaged in Almunecar spain but still work fine - they look the business
* MASSIVE 20” alloy wheels INCLUDING the spare wheel!! these attract looks wherever you go. To get them to stop spraying filth all over the side of the van we installed side arches and rally flap mudflaps. These also add to it looking really beautiful.
* 4x Michelin Cross climate tyres put on just 4 weeks ago so practically new. These are the best all round tyres you can get and cost a bloody fortune!
* side pods on both sides so you can comfortably sleep sideways - the passenger side is narrow enough not to require a special adaptor for the side doors as they can cause problems so this is all as it’s originally meant to be.
* glass opening side windows on both sides with tinted glass
* curtains on sides
* deflectors on driver and passenger windows so you can open them without getting blasted with noise.
* Remi blinds on front doors and windscreen - the front has been upgraded to the side opening version as the previous kept breaking every time you pull the sun-visor down!!
* OEM B pillar fittings so it looks factory instead of plywood bodges you see.
* Custom made plinth under rear seats and table. You cannot buy these so we made one from scratch and it’s made the maximum use of the space with a hinged lid and under lit shelf as well as a pull out drawer under the table. Took forever and with no templates or any other inspiration was a real labour of love! looks and works perfectly
* 12v lighting in ridiculous abundance!
it’s got more than it needs really - all touch sensitive and dimmable . Every Evo cupboard has the lighting upgrade as well as the ceiling lights. This allows total control and adaptability for whatever situation you’re in.
* new towbar with software upgrade.
* Thule omnistor awning with 12v lighting bar so you can look like your own disco.
* usb C connector above bed to keep your phones charged
* swipe touch light bar under bed so you can see what you’re doing!
* 2 ring 240v induction hob, stored in drawer to allow use of worktop
* 3 drawers storing everything you need
* overhead storage lockers - all matched with verde bambu form Evo Motion
* wedge set in door runner so the door stays open half way without sliding shut on a slope - this is SO RIDICULOUSLY HANDY!! The door can easily be slid over it when needed though.
* in addition to the foil backed insulation it has been fully ply lined and carpeted with high end carpet for longevity and packed with a mountain of polyester insulation in every possible orifice and i mean EVERY place it could go, i including roof, doors, pillars and awkward spaces most people don’t bother with. It’s important not to use natural fibres to prevent mould growth. The insulation has made it very quiet inside.
* wiring is in place for a rear camera that could be put in if you want to and added to the original screen on the dash.

The original Van had one previous owner and had only done 28,000 miles so it is immaculate and drives faultlessly.
Mileage now sit at 51,700 ish so it's still barely run in and will give you years of trouble free motoring. I used Cataclean a few months ago to ensure its clean as a whistle and the oil was changed in April. The windscreen is also brand new after a large stone chip was lobbed from a French lorry. Grrrrrr.

So far we have been to portugal, spain, france (twice) and it’s been a total joy, but being 60 it’s becoming too hard to manoeuvre around inside hence it's now reluctantly going up for sale.

For a young or fit person or couple this is a superb opportunity to buy a camper that ticks all the boxes at half the price of one you’d buy from a manufacturer. We have honestly tried to think of everything and as you can see we have spared no expense at all to ensure it’s as good as it can possibly be.
The conversion took almost a year - i've done all the research so you can know it's good! JC Leisure in Rye, E. Sussex who originally sold me the Van as a project did the plumbing work (because i am too old and knackered to go scrabbling about underneath it!) and it's bang on.
Their main mechanic Paul is a real expert and did a great job. He also sorted out the Truma heater system that another company I shall not mention had installed for me at great expense and royally messed up. It is ironic that self builds get suspicious looks when so called professional companies can be so shoddy.
My recommendation for what it's worth is don't be fooled by the bling and marketing and look closely at what you get instead of blindly believing what you're told.

Sensible offers welcome - the starting price is very low and only reflects the physical costs of the conversion. Happy to discuss this until the cows come home so please feel free to ask! Viewing and test drives welcome as long as you’re not a time waster and have insurance. I'd love this to go to someone who would appreciate it and cherish and enjoy it as much as we have.
