Harvey the R.V. has been the home for myself, my wife and our pet Labrador, living off grid on the west coast of Scotland, for the past 2 years.
Now that we have a more permanent base we have decided it is time to let him go to someone who will make good use of him again, rather than leave him to fester unused on the driveway.
He is a right hand drive A type mobile home built by Hymer on a Mercedes chassis with a 2.7 litre turbo diesel engine and 6 speed automatic transmission. This engine is from the era when Mercedes were fitting double weight cam chains to their diesels, which makes him mechanically pretty bullet proof and low maintenance.
Harvey has double tyres on the back on a single axle and weighs in at 4.6 T so you will need to have a licence valid for C1 if you want to drive him. He measures 7.5 metres (L) x 2.26 metres (W) x 2.9 meters (H). All tyres were replaced at the start of 2024 and have done no more than 9000 miles.
As you would expect from a vehicle of this size, capable of full time living off grid he has:

Currently Harvey has 86,000 miles on the clock and his MoT expires on 31/01/26. There were no advisories on the last MoT.
You will notice from the photo’s that there is some damage to the passenger side bumper, caused by catching a rock under the bumper whilst parking at the end of 2024. The damage was repaired by tape at the time and has been sound ever since. Full repair, if deemed necessary, could be done by a reasonably competent DIY’er with dry garage space.
