The Sony HVR-MRC1 is a tapeless recording unit that attaches to Sony HDV/DVCAM camcorders (like HVR-Z5U/Z7U/S270U/FX1E and others ) to record HDV, DVCAM, or DV footage directly onto CompactFlash (CF) cards. It provides roughly 72 minutes of recording on a 16GB card, allowing for a hybrid workflow, simultaneous tape/file recording, and instant editing.
