Originally published in French by Phaidon Press. English edition printed by Hunt Barnard & Co, Ltd of Aylesbury and bound by The Pitman Press of Bath. No date is mentioned but believed to have been published at the beginning of 1956.

There is no dust jacket but a photo cover of the mosaic pavement at the Baths of Caracalla.

It was originally given as a Christmas present in 1956, in Rome where my father was working at the time. Otherwise it is in good condition, with tight binding.

A rare copy, as evidenced by the fact that at the time of listing, only one other copy was listed and that in America. A brief internet search produced no others on sale.
