Description
The Clubman was Raleigh’s top of the range touring bikes of that era, hand built with Reynolds 531 tubing, Campagnolo front and rear derailleurs and top-quality components throughout. An ideal bike for entering the Eroica or any vintage ride.
I bought this bicycle from the cycle shop in Lancaster in 1984. The frame number is WP2001023. The bike is generally in very original condition with few parts having been replaced. The photos show a few scratches on metallic red paint of the frame which resulted from it being transported on a bike rack. The original stickers are intact.
The frame size is 22 ½ inches (57 cm).
The 27x1.25 Weinmann alloy rims made in Belgium with Maillard small-flange hubs. The rim on the rear wheel has been replaced but the hub is original.
The drivetrain includes original Campagnolo 980 front and rear derailleurs with Campagnolo downtube shifters, SR Custom alloy cotterless 52/42T chainset with 170mm cranks. The freewheel is Shimano 14-28T, 6-speed.
Brakes are original Weinmann 610 alloy centre-pulls with Weinmann dimpled quick-release levers
Raleigh Italienne alloy drop bars on an SR Custom cast alloy stem. Handlebar need re-taping.
Alloy pedals with Christophe polished clips and original white leather straps.
Laprade SR fluted seat pin.
Continental Ultra Sport Tyres.
