Description
Mk2 Raleigh Chopper - this bike has been fully restored and is in show condition as you can see from the pictures. My father, who is a retired engineer, undertook the restoration.
Full details are as follows:
Frame - full bare metal repaint, fitted with new stickers, original Raleigh head-badge and fork thimbles, new chainguard, forks are true, kickstand is new.
Wheels - re-chromed rims with stainless steel spokes; new tyres for both.
Mudguards - re-chromed rear, original front.
Brakes - re-chromed callipers, new brake blocks and brake cables.
Gears - the original Sturmey Archer 3-speed hub has been overhauled and the gears shift smoothly. New gear cable. The T-bar shifter mechanism works great and the gear console is brand new.
Chain-set - original, very good chrome, sprocket teeth not worn, original pedals, new cotter pins and chain.
Seat - recovered, no tears, foam is very firm, new yellow Raleigh Chopper sticker.
Sissy bar, stand, rear rack and seat post - these have been re-chromed
Handlebars, levers, light bracket - re-chromed,Â
All bearings have been renewed and regreased where necessary.
Overall, this is a lovely bike and is one that you can use straight away for pleasure, for shows or as an exhibit in your home, if permitted!
