Description
This THULE bike carrier has been owned from new, bought in 2017 as an add-on package with my previous vehicle. We have used it on fewer than 10 occasions since then on trips to Norfolk and France. It is very strongly built (rightly so!) and has proved to be very stable in use with our two bikes, which have been converted to electric with Swytch kits.
That car has now been sold and it is time to move the bike carrier on. It is in very good condition, clean and undamaged aside from a few minor scuff marks around where the clamps tighten. It comes with a 13-pin to 7-pin adapter for the electrics. All lights are working.
The upright part of the frame folds down for easy storage. The tow ball clamp handle is locked with the key to facilitate fitting, so that once tightened onto the vehicle and unlocked, the handle then spins freely preventing unauthorised removal. We used to further secure the bikes to the frame with a normal bike lock cable.
Once on the vehicle, the locking tab can be swung up and the pull handle at the rear allows the whole frame to be swung down about 45 degrees, with bikes loaded, to allow access to the tailgate of the car. Sorry - couldn't find a pic of that.
I would be very happy to demonstrate the fitting process to any buyer who is unsure how to do it.
Just add your own number plate to make it legal :-)
Owing to the size and weight of this item, this is buyer collect only from Fowlmere, near Royston.
