Bathroom and kitchen renovation

I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this review. Hiring Mariusz to renovate our bathroom turned into an absolute nightmare, and I strongly urge anyone considering him for a complex project to look elsewhere. At first, everything seemed to be going fine, but as the project neared completion, major issues started surfacing, one after another. The biggest disaster was the wet-room floor. The slope wasn’t deep enough, meaning water pooled across the entire bathroom instead of draining properly. We couldn’t even use the shower because of how badly it flooded. Mariusz admitted fault and promised to fix it, but it took him nearly three months to come back, leaving us relying on towels to soak up the mess in the meantime. When he finally returned to redo the entire floor from scratch... he got it wrong AGAIN! We even pointed out that we didn’t think the decline was deep enough half way through the work, but he was adamant it was fine. Spoiler: it wasn’t. At this point, he refused to come back for a third attempt, so we had to get a lawyer involved. Two months of legal back-and-forth, he finally agreed to refund us 30% so we could hire a professional to fix his mistakes. This whole disaster ended up costing us over £16,000 - £6,000 over budget. Unfortunately, the wet-room issue was just one of many problems. Other issues included faults with the taps and the amount of noise they were making, misaligned fixtures, sloppy silicone was over-applied in most areas, grout lines on the floor were inconsistent, uneven, and not flush with the tiles (which is crucial for a wet-room), major painting & plastering issues, electrical problems, and lastly, serious damage to other parts of the house, this one really made our blood boil. Our stairway was left with massive dents and marks everywhere from the renovation, and we later discovered damage to the kitchen ceiling directly beneath the bathroom. This was completely unacceptable and just added to the costs we had to cover in the end. At the end of the day, while Mariusz was friendly and did take responsibility for some of the mistakes, he was way out of his depth on this project. If you need basic work done, he might be fine. But for anything remotely complex, stay far away. Hiring him was one of the most stressful and expensive mistakes we’ve ever made.

We heard about Otto bathrooms on recommendation. We were really impressed by the work done to change our small bathroom into what feels like a huge shower room. Mariusz was polite, prompt and friendly. He and his sidekick obviously take real pride in their work, communicating well when needed and looking out for the rest of the house as they worked in and around it. I had complete trust in the work being done and in his gentle suggestions and advice. Would definitely recommend.

Brilliant team who are extremely hardworking, reliable and great problem solvers. We are very pleased with our bathroom renovation which was finished to a high standard. They went over and above to complete the work and were very pleasant to work with. Thank you!

Mariusz and his crew renovated our bathroom. They were professional, reliable and took real pride in their work. It's hard to find good tradesmen, but I will definitely reach out to Otto bathrooms with my next plumbing and tiling projects. I highly recommend.

Otto Bathrooms did an outstanding job replacing our bathroom. We were overjoyed with the result. We were given advice on how to do the job as we had no idea how it should be done. Work they did was very high quality which exceeded our expectations. We were given a fair quote promptly. We would highly recommend them and we definitely are going to use them in the future again
