Description
About us
Tamesis Dock and The Battersea Barge are two floating independent venues on the Thames, near Vauxhall. We host weddings, cabaret, live music, corporate events and parties, and we're looking for friendly, reliable bar staff to join our crew.
The role
You'll be serving drinks, keeping the bar running smoothly and giving guests a great experience, whether it's a quiet weekday or a packed wedding. No two shifts are the same, and working on a boat on the Thames beats most bar jobs for atmosphere.
Your responsibilities
Serve drinks quickly, accurately and with a smile
Prepare and pour cocktails, draught beer, wine and spirits
Keep the bar clean, stocked and presentable
Handle cash and card payments accurately
Support with setting up, glass collecting and closing down
Follow licensing, health & safety and responsible alcohol service rules
Work well with the team during busy events
What we're looking for
Previous bar experience preferred, but a great attitude and willingness to learn count for just as much
Availability to work weekends and New Year's Eve (x1.5 pay)
A calm, friendly and reliable approach, even when it's busy
Ability to work late evenings
Must be 18+ with the right to work in the UK
Personal licence a bonus, but not essential
Seasonal and casual (more hours on weekends, December and from March(ish)- October(ish)
What we offer
Free meals for 6+ hour shifts
Extra shifts at busy times, including big events and NYE
Training and room to progress into supervisor/ managerial roles
