A long-standing and highly valued Poppy Lane family are looking for a warm, kind, and engaging Weekend Nanny to join them. This is a truly lovely opportunity to become part of a supportive and welcoming household, with the main focus on weekend care, alongside the option of occasional additional afternoons or evening babysitting during the week by arrangement.
The family are relocating to the Hampshire area and will be bringing their full-time nanny who we placed with them a number of years ago along with them. They are now looking to welcome a dedicated, early years-focused weekend nanny who will bring energy, creativity, and genuine care to their children’s weekends, helping to create a happy, calm, and enriching environment.
The role centres around caring for their two young children, a little girl aged 2 and her older brother aged 4 across Saturdays and Sundays. It’s a fantastic position for someone seeking a consistent weekend role, whether you are a Norland student, studying teaching or a related field, working part-time in childcare as a nanny or in a nursery, or an experienced nanny looking to return to the profession in a more flexible capacity.
Your time with the children will be very hands-on and focused on creating a fun and nurturing atmosphere. You will support their routines, plan engaging and developmentally appropriate activities, and encourage their early learning through play, interaction, and exploration. Preparing simple, nutritious meals and ensuring their overall wellbeing will also form part of your day-to-day responsibilities.
There is also flexibility for additional hours, should you be interested. This could include occasional babysitting, helping during school holidays, or covering when the full-time nanny is on leave. For those who enjoy a varied role, there may also be opportunities over time to support with light family assistance or PA-style tasks, although the core focus will always remain on high-quality childcare and early years development.
The family are hoping to find someone who is naturally warm, fun, and engaging, with a genuine love for working with young children. A strong understanding of early years development is important, along with previous experience in a nannying, nursery, or similar childcare setting. They would be equally delighted to hear from Norland nannies in training or similar, as well as former nannies looking to step back into a part-time role.
A confident driver is essential, along with someone who is reliable, proactive, and able to integrate seamlessly into a friendly and professional team. The position is ideally live-out, although there is flexibility for overnight accommodation on a Saturday if helpful. This is a truly special family who are known to us and a genuine pleasure to work with. They are kind, respectful, and value the people who support them. Their home is fully staffed but maintains a warm, informal feel, where everyone is appreciated and made to feel part of the team.
If you are looking for a rewarding weekend role with a lovely family, we would absolutely love to hear from you.
