The Singer 99K-31 is a highly regarded, vintage 3/4-size machine produced by the Singer Manufacturing Company, primarily at their famous Kilbowie factory in Scotland (indicated by the "K"). Introduced around 1957, the 99K-31 represents the pinnacle and final variation of the iconic Singer 99 series before production ended in the late 1950s.

Core Features & Specifications
• Stitch Capability: It is a dedicated straight-stitch machine. It is renowned for producing incredibly precise, beautiful straight stitches that rival modern machinery.
• Reverse Functionality: Unlike early Singer 99 models which only sewed forward, the 99K-31 features a built-in reverse mechanism (back-tack) for locking stitches.
• Stitch Indicator Plate: It is easily identified by its unique dual-slot stitch length plate on the front right. One slot guides the stitch lever, while the adjacent slot holds a separate visual indicator.
• Mechanism: It utilises an oscillating hook and a convenient top-loading bobbin system.
• Build Quality: Constructed entirely from heavy-duty cast iron with a black japanned finish, making it nearly indestructible and highly capable of piercing tough materials like denim, canvas, and light leather if properly powered.
