Description
Funhouse Comedy launches the new season at the Walnut Tree Inn, Blisworth on Thursday September 24th with a great night of laughter.
Topping the bill is Birmingham-based comedian Jay Handley known for his smart, self-deprecating humour and engaging storytelling. A regular on the UK comedy circuit, he mixes sharp observations with playful charm, tackling everything from relationships to modern life with wit and warmth.
Opening the night will be a favourite entertainer of the troops, Phil Walker. Starting out at the likes of Butlins he went on to win Manchester's 'City Life Comedian of the Year', (previous winners being Peter Kay and Steve Coogan). His cheeky smile and warm persona are backed-up by the unique ability to state the obvious, in both an entertaining and subtle way. His energy and pace ensure that audiences love him wherever he goes.
Also appearing is Les Keen, the hardest working (and funniest) man in comedy. Even if you don't know his face, you'll have laughed at his sharp gags and catchphrases, think "no likey, no lighty". He is also a documentary maker, producer, creator and performer.
Completing the line-up will be stand-up comedian and occasional actor Mark Vincent with his anecdotal/storytelling and occasional dabbles into politics and character comedy.
Compere for the night is James Cook with his sharp tongue and dry sense of humour he previously worked as a presenter on commercial radio stations, went on air with A-ha and presented Lenny Henry with his 'Walk of Fame'.
