A & K Architectural Services is an established family owned practice, offering architectural planning and design services in Cornwall and the South West.

Founded in 2005, we have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the design and construction of all types of residential projects from small extensions to new builds and commercial ventures including change of use and housing developments.

Having developed from the construction industry, we have experienced and qualified knowledge in construction techniques, insulation solutions, plumbing, electrics and renewables. We pride ourselves in working closely with our clients to achieve their aspirations.

We registered with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists as a chartered practice, with our director Rob Gould being a Chartered Architectural Technologist (MCIAT).

1. Free, no-obligation initial visit
– We will visit free of charge and listen.
– Gain a true understanding of what you’re trying to achieve and for what purpose.
– From this point we can collate the information gathered and provide you with a quotation to include all architectural services to deliver your design.

2. Work with you to produce a design
– Carry out a full measured survey of the site.
– Prepare draft CAD drawings.
– Listen to your aspirations and ideas to further tailor the development to your needs.
– Give our input on the scheme to ensure that the final proposal ticks all of your boxes and would satisfy local and national planning policies.

3. Planning permission
– Approve the final scheme with you – our client.
– Ensure all relevant documentation, drawings, surveys and supporting documents are collated.
– Submit all documents to the planning department.
– Manage the process, collaborating with the local council to endeavour to gain a positive result.

4. Building regulation approval
– Prepare technical drawings with sufficient detail for a building firm to construct the proposal.
– Prepare all associated documentation.
– Gather structural calculations for the design.
– Submit all drawings and documentation to Building Control for statutory approval.

5. Project management
We offer a comprehensive project management service that includes Party Wall Agreements, Schedule of Works, Telephone and Site Support at construction and post-construction phases.
