Victorian antique campaign day bed

Description

A beautiful Victorian mahogany campaign bed with original cane panels, currently styled as an oversized coffee table. The proportions make it ideal as a statement piece in a sitting room, topped with a bespoke cushion for additional seating or used as a coffee table with trays and books. It would also look at home used as a day bed in a grand bay window.

Turned legs and original castors, retaining wonderful period character while lending itself perfectly to contemporary interiors. All legs unscrew.

A genuinely versatile piece that would suit country house, eclectic, maximalist or boutique hotel style interiors.

Solid and sturdy with age-related wear consistent with its history. Two cane panels are in very good order. The panel at the foot of the bed has been previous glued (I presume to keep the integrity of it). Would look wonderful restored, or you can use a tray or a cushion to cover this (see pictures).

The maker is Leveson & Sons, London - highly regarded cabinet makers trading around 1870-1915.

Approximate dimensions: 60cm x 189 cm, height approx 30cm.
