Pair Antique Japanese Kutani Porcelain Incense Burners / Koros – Hand Painted
Rogerstone, Newport
1 / 2
Description
An attractive matching pair of antique Japanese Kutani-style porcelain tripod incense burners (koros), believed to date from the late 19th/early 20th century.
Both feature extensive traditional Japanese decoration with hand-painted figures, iron-red/orange enamels, gilding and elaborate moulded handles, and each stands on three decorative feet.
Both pieces carry hand-painted red Japanese marks to the underside.
They make a particularly attractive pair and would display beautifully together.
Please note that the original lids are unfortunately no longer present, and the price reflects this. There is also normal age-related wear, particularly around the feet. Please study the photographs carefully.
An interesting pair for a collector of Japanese, Kutani or Oriental ceramics. £175 ONO for the pair
