Description
This is an absolutely stunning, handmade Chinese wedding basket. These baskets were traditionally used to transport gifts and offerings to the bride and groom. They are often made of wood and bamboo and are decorated with red lacquer, gold leaf, and auspicious motifs. It has a lovely metal latch with a faint design on the lid, which opens to the inside. The handle is very decorative, with gold, red and green colours used. The wood has been carefully carved and has a strip of metal around the base.
