Chinese Canton Famille Rose Bowl. C.1860.
An extremely bueatiful Chinese Canton serving dish with beautiful enamelled decoration, illustrated with various social scenes and floral scenes all beautifully painted, the decoration on this large piece is wonderful.
As shown in the photographs there is a stapled repair to the base which has been carried out with tremendous skill, this does not affect the strength or soundness of this handsome piece.
There is some natural wear to the gilt around the deep rim of the dish but the colours generally are absolutely wonderful, enhancing the skill of the illustrator
