Antique/Vintage Ornate Oil Lamp – Amber Glass Reservoir & Decorative Cast Metal Base

A wonderfully decorative vintage oil lamp with a striking combination of a rich amber-brown glass reservoir, ornate pierced metal fittings and a beautifully detailed architectural-style base.
The lamp features a large rounded amber glass oil reservoir, topped with a traditional brass-toned gallery and burner mechanism. The burner is marked “THE SUN …” (please see photographs for the exact marking). Above it sits the original tall, clear glass chimney.

The most eye-catching feature is the ornate cast metal pyramid-shaped base, decorated with pierced floral and scrolling motifs and finished in an attractive aged dark pewter/black tone. The combination of the elaborate base, warm amber glass and brass fittings gives the lamp a wonderfully Gothic/Victorian antique aesthetic.

A fantastic decorative piece for an antique-style interior, period home, cottage, reading room or eclectic display, and equally appealing as a practical oil lamp for those who enjoy traditional lighting.

Full working order.
Good vintage/antique condition commensurate with age. There are signs of age and use, including some tarnishing, surface marks and wear to the metal fittings and base, as well as minor imperfections to the glass and reservoir.
