very large heavy impressive french figural chiming mantel clock ,it chimes a bell on the half hour then on the hour chimes the bell the hour number, it is an impressive looking clock standing 24 inches tall on its veined marble base with gilt feet, it features a lady with a book with a cherub holding it hands out to her, it was made about 1901 by louis auguste moreau of the famous french cast bronze statue family, in paris, the movement has a lovely flower decoration on the dial and it was made by L. petillot in provins france about 1899 to 1901 , it keeps good time and has its original key and pendulum, look great in a period room or hallway, this was one of the largest clocks the moreau family made, owing to its weight this is listed as buyer collect, however l will deliver it or meet you in the nottingham area for a £5 fuel cost, definitely willnot post or send by carrier, £475 ono
