Antique print of "Christ appearing to Mary Magdalene". The risen Christ shows Himself to the Magdalene, after His resurrection.
Christian religious theme picture with stunning technique and details, finely copper engraved.
In the Gospel of John (20:11–17), Mary Magdalene arrives at Jesus's empty tomb and asks a nearby gardener where she can find Jesus's body. Calling her by name, the gardener reveals himself as Christ and asks that she report his resurrection to the disciples.
The writing and clothing style dates it from around the 16th-18th century, likely late 1600s to early 1700s.
The picture appears to have originally been part of an old book and later framed.
