1983 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2.0

I have owned this car since March 1987 having bought it from the first owner, a firm of Estate Agents in Altrincham, Cheshire.

The car was totally restored in 1993 (photographic file available) by Westune Auto Services, Horwich, a well renowned Alfa specialist of the period using many, many genuine Alfa panels. It has been dry stored since then and has only completed approximately 12,000 miles since the restoration was completed. Following a lengthy period of storage a recommissioning has now been carried out which included a complete fluid change, the fitting of new callipers, discs and pads together with an overhaul of the drive shaft with donuts, bearings etc and a professional overhaul of the carburettors by Weber Carb Reconditioning Services.

The engine is fitted with Westune Fast Road cams and a full Ansa exhaust system, including the manifold so produces around 145 bhp.

At the gearbox end, a limited slip differential together with an isostatic gear linkage from a GTV6 is fitted giving a huge improvement over the standard set up.

New Koni shocks and slightly lowered springs were fitted during the
restoration together with GTV6 torsion bars resulting in improved handling and better stance. A set of Compomotive 7”x15” wheels were also fitted. The original wheels will also come with the car although they do require specialist renovation.

Inside, the car is as new except for one very tiny blemish (less than 3mm diameter) on the driver’s seat cushion which it came to me with and is never normally noticed unless specifically pointed out. Otherwise it is completely unmarked indicating its lack of overall use.

Following the restoration, the car gained several awards at local shows but unfortunately the years have taken their toll on the paintwork and some areas of lacquer blistering are now present with, also some rusting around the edges of the sunroof panel which will need attention. However given that, the car could easily be returned to a condition 1 example.

It is listed with DVLA as a Historic Vehicle so does not require taxing and is also MOT Exempt.
