Horticulture Breeding Operative

Description

A great opportunity to work as a Horticulture Breeding Operative for our client based in Wolverhampton.

The hours of work are:

- Monday to Thursday 8am to 4:30pm

- Friday 8am to 3:30pm

Th rate of pay is £12.75 per hour

Your Time at Work

As a Horticulture Breeding Operative your role will include:

- General Horticulture Practices

- Experienced in potting, weeding, grading, and general production line work within a nursery environment.

- Rose Breeding & Propagation - Knowledge of rose cultivation techniques, including cross-pollination, seed collection, and selection of desirable traits such as colour, fragrance, disease resistance, and bloom longevity.

- Adaptability to Working Conditions - Comfortable working both indoors (factory environment) and outdoors, with a willingness to work in cold, wet, and variable weather conditions throughout the year.

- Plant Care & Quality Control - Skilled in monitoring plant health, identifying pests or diseases, and grading plants to ensure only the highest quality specimens proceed to the next stage.

- Manual Handling & Physical Stamina - Capable of performing repetitive physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods, while maintaining attention to detail.

- Team Collaboration - Able to work effectively as part of a production team to meet daily targets and seasonal deadlines.

Our Perfect Worker

Our perfect worker will have the following skills:

- Potting, weeding, grading, and line work

- Rose breeding and propagation techniques

- Plant health monitoring and quality control

- Physical stamina and manual handling

- Teamwork and meeting production targets

- Working indoors and outdoors in all weather

Experience in similar role desirable, but not essential
