Grounds Maintenance Operative

Location : Exmouth

Hours: Monday to Sunday 06:00am-5:00pm. 5 days a week.

Pay: £13.26

Must have a full UK Drivers Licence

Role purpose:

To assist in routine grounds maintenance operations (grass and hedge cutting, pruning, planting and weeding), as directed, throughout the district of East Devon.

Core accountability's

1. Use mechanical plant, equipment and vehicles; assist teams throughout the District as directed, achieving StreetScene standards and objectives.

2. Grass cutting and strimming.

3. Hedge pruning.

4. Digging, bedding, planting and watering.

5. Hoeing and weeding.

6. Acting as sports attendant during weekends as required.

7. Support the provision of a customer focused service.

8. Support the approach to equalities, including the need for safety of children and other vulnerable people.

9. Take personal responsibility for the relevant aspects Health and Safety of self and others when at work.

10. Act in accordance with the Council's policies, Code of Conduct and Constitution.

11. Assist in the evaluation and management of risk within the service

Requirements of the role:

Be physically fit as the role is very physical

Have some grounds maintenance / cleaning experience

Able to work both as a team and on your own at times
