Job Summary

Salary: 'Negotiable - DOE'

We are looking for a new Sales Estimator to join our team based in our Watford HQ. We are looking for an experienced and self-sufficient candidate with previous estimating experience. The successful candidate will be expected to thoroughly review customer enquiries, including project specifications and drawings in order to produce a detailed quotation. Whilst the candidate will be estimating daily, the candidate will be also be expected to qualify new leads to gain all the information and pass over to our administration department for estimating & submission. After submitting this to our customers, they would discuss our offer with our customers where required and seek to gain directions. If required to do so, they would review and revise their offer as directed and resubmit to the customer.

Evaluate incoming customer enquiries and determine accurate product and solution requirements

View building plans, specifications and have the ability to measure and quantify take offs and to tender multiple projects simultaneously.

Liaise with clients/Suppliers in the compiling of Tenders/Quotes/Variations.

Prepare detailed and competitive quotes within set timeframes

Revise quotations as project requirements evolve and ensure all updates are properly recorded

Ensure completed quotes comply with specification and design briefs.

Log all relevant quote activity into the company system for following up/quote chasing

To raise quotations using IT systems including Sage and Excel pricing schedules.

All facets of internal sales including phone, email and web based portals including contractor portals such as Aconex, Plexus, Bidworks etc

Work closely with team members to ensure quotas and deadlines are achieved.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to support accurate forecasting and repeat business

Collaborate with the technical department to ensure correct specification and solutions

The candidate will be expected to follow up estimates, negotiate and secure orders

What we are looking for:

The suitable candidates will have had proven experience of managing customers

Previous experience in an estimating/cost planning role is essential.

Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings (essential)

Strong organisational skills is a must including being PC literate, including knowledge of Microsoft office and Excel.

Pleasant and friendly attitude is essential with a willingness to take calls, be professional at all times even when dealing with complex matters and have a keen focus on customer service standards.

Confident and happy to engage with customers over the phone or in person

Existing strong knowledge of the Blind & Curtain industry is preferred but training will be provided to the right candidate

Candidate that can work to deadlines

Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a similar industry.

Strong understanding of sales principles and customer relationship management.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to take initiative in driving projects forward.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
