Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Hybrid Working: Up to two days per week from home

Komatsu UK is a leading manufacturer of hydraulic excavators and part of the globally recognised Komatsu Group. Based in Gateshead, the company combines the stability of a global organisation with the culture and autonomy of a successful local manufacturing operation.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Lead to take ownership of the monthly UK payroll for approximately 450 employees. This standalone Payroll Lead role offers the chance to manage a varied payroll function while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and payroll-related projects.

Working closely with HR, Finance and the external payroll provider, the Payroll Lead will ensure payroll data is accurate, compliant and delivered within agreed deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the end-to-end monthly payroll process Preparing and validating payroll data Reviewing payroll outputs and reconciliations Ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements Managing statutory payments, P11Ds and year-end processes Supporting pensions, benefits and company car administration Producing payroll and labour cost reports Acting as the main point of contact for payroll queries Supporting payroll process improvements

About You

The successful Payroll Lead will have proven payroll experience, a strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and experience working with payroll systems and external providers. Strong Excel skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently are essential.

Experience of iTrent, IR35, international payroll arrangements or manufacturing environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
