Description

A growing and successful professional services business in Leeds is seeking an experienced Part Time Financial Controller to oversee its finance function and support the continued growth of the organisation.

This is a hands-on role that will suit an experienced finance professional who enjoys operating across both transactional and management accounting activities whilst providing commercial insight to support business performance.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the day-to-day finance operation, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and effective management of cashflow, payroll and statutory obligations.

The key roles and responsibilities for this position will include:

Overseeing the full timesheet, payroll and invoicing process, including management of finance and operational systemsManaging banking activities, including reconciliations and funding facility administrationProducing weekly, monthly and annual margin and performance reportingPreparing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations and budget variance analysisMaintaining and developing cashflow forecasting modelsManaging the credit control function and aged debt reportingOverseeing purchase ledger activities and ensuring accurate financial recordsPreparing accruals, prepayments and journalsCompleting VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax submissionsSupporting the annual budgeting process alongside senior leadershipActing as the key point of contact for finance systems and process improvementsManaging and mentoring two Finance Assistants The ideal candidate requirements for this role will include the following:

Previous experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance positionExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to build effective working relationships across multiple departmentsA proactive approach to identifying process improvements and efficienciesStrong Excel and financial systems skillsPrevious experience managing and developing finance team members This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation in a broad and varied role, offering significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on business performance.
