Management Accountant (12-Month FTC - Maternity Cover)

Location: Just outside Chester

Salary: Up to c.£40,000

Hybrid Working: 2 days office / 3 days home

Start Date: Mid to late November

Axon Moore are delighted to be partnering with a fantastic business based just outside Chester to recruit a Management Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation with a genuinely supportive and friendly finance team. The role offers broad exposure across the month-end process and management accounts function, making it ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on and working as part of a collaborative team environment.

The Role

Reporting into their Head of Finance, you will take ownership of key month-end activities while supporting the wider finance function as needed.

Duties will include:

Preparing and posting journals

Managing accruals and prepayments

Completing balance sheet reconciliations

Taking ownership of month-end processes

Assisting with management accounts preparation

Maintaining accuracy and integrity of financial records

Supporting purchase and sales ledger activities when required

Investigating and resolving financial discrepancies

Working closely with the wider finance team to ensure reporting deadlines are met

Providing ad hoc finance support as required

About You

To be considered, you will need:

Previous experience in a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant role

Hands-on experience with month-end accounting processes

Strong knowledge of accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations

Good Excel skills and attention to detail

A proactive and team-oriented approach

The ability xjnqpsq to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team environment
