We're Hiring: Interim Treasury and Pensions Accountant

Hybrid Working | Local Government

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Treasury and Pensions Accountant to join a small, highly collaborative team in a Local Authority, providing essential support across both operational and strategic finance functions.

In this role, you will work closely with a part‑time Principal Accountant to deliver a wide range of hands‑on treasury and pensions accounting, alongside supporting the production of committee reports and key year‑end activities.

What you'll be doing:

Delivering day‑to‑day operational treasury and pensions activity

Leading on the production of Treasury and Pensions committee reports

Taking responsibility for significant portions of year‑end closedown for these areas

Supporting investment, borrowing, cashflow, LGPS fund accounting and related technical work

Working closely with the pensions administration team (though not line‑managing them)

Providing robust, accurate, and timely financial insight to senior stakeholders

What our client is looking for:

Significant experience in Local Authority Treasury and Pensions accounting Strong hands‑on technical skills in treasury management, pension xjnqpsq fund accounting, and year‑end processes

Ability to balance operational delivery with strategic outputs (including committee reporting)

A proactive, collaborative team player able to work confidently within a small specialist function
